Covid LIVE: India records 18,795 cases, lowest single-day peak in 6 months

Coronavirus Updates: India reported 179 deaths from Covid-19 on Tuesday, the smallest increase since mid-March, bringing the total to 447,373. Infections increased by 18,795, the smallest increase since early March, bringing the total to about 33.7 million, according to data from the Department of Health. India has so far registered 33,697,581 cases of corona in total.

Delhi has reported 32 cases of Covid-19 and no deaths. Kerala has registered 11,699 new cases of Covid-19 and Maharashtra 2,432 cases.

Black marketing during the second wave of Covid-19 meant that large numbers of people had to pay much more than the actual tariff to access healthcare facilities, a recent investigation revealed.

A survey of more than 24,000 people across the country by local circles said the government should come up with a better mechanism to track the supply of Covid-related drugs, oxygen cylinders and concentrators through unique identification in order to that the location of these products can be digitally tracked by manufacturers.
