Rowan Best Men’s Soccer – The College of New Jersey Athletics

EWING, NJ – The TCNJ men’s soccer team fell behind early on Wednesday night and were unable to make up the loss, losing to Rowan 5-0.

The Profs came out of the gate firing, scoring twice in the opening five minutes and changing.

The Lions had the opportunity to cut the lead half to half an hour when JohnAnthony Gallina sent a nice overhand pass to Justin Dominique. This pass knocked the keeper out of the net and charged Dominique. The goalkeeper wasn’t fooled by Dominique’s movements as he slipped in for the tackle.

Just ten minutes later it was Dominique who wreaked havoc up front again this time on a Carraha through ball down the left side. The 6’4″ senior looked like he had an angle to shoot but the opportunity was tarnished by another slippery defender Rowan.

TCNJ entered the half 2-0. No less than 5 minutes into the second, Dominique found himself knocking on the door again with a header that ricocheted off the post from a Colin Kenville corner kick.

After heading the post, Rowan held the Lions scoreless for the final 40 minutes while scoring two more goals to secure the 5-0 victory.

Walker Smith reached a career high in saves on Wednesday with eight saves in the evening.

The TCNJ men’s soccer is back in action on Saturday as they celebrate senior day against the NJCU which kicks off at 6:00 p.m.
