The offensive powers of women’s ice hockey in five goals against Boston University

ORONO, ME – The University of Maine women’s ice hockey team had an offensive blast as they firmly beat the Boston University Terriers, 5-1.

FIRST GOAL (1-0 Maine): Following an excellent diet by Courtney colarullo (2), Nicole pateman was left wide open for a slap shot from the blue line, which she scored for her second goal of the season. Ali beltz (5) also collected an assist.

SECOND GOAL (1-1): Boston University would respond quickly as Emma Wuthrich scored her fourth goal of the season in the net. Her close wrist shot was taken by Ellie Larson (2), who received the puck from Tamara Giaquinto (1).

THIRD GOAL (2-1 Maine): Maine would start their four goals unanswered as taylor leech scored his third of the season. The single slap shot arose from a return pass from Rachel Enzler (1) and the breakaway opportunity started on Nicole pateman (1) fly.

FOURTH GOAL (3-1 Maine): Bailey oakes would score his first collegiate goal as Maine increased their lead. Her slapshot on a slapshot fell from her stick near the net for Kate Stuart, who couldn’t stop the luck. Ida Kuoppala (8) and Nicole pateman (2) picked up assists during the game.

FIFTH GOAL (4-1 Maine): Courtney colarullo would continue the offense for the Black Bears as his second of the season came from a saved shot taken by Alyssa wruble (2). His shot was set up by Ali Beltz (6).

SIXTH GOAL (5-1 Maine): Ida Kuoppala wrapped up the Black Bears’ highest score of the season as she landed a backhand wrist shot which she dragged right in front of Stuart and beat her on the glove side. His third goal of the season came out to win by Nicole pateman (3).

Maine (5-8-1, 3-5-1 ET) will look for their fourth straight victory as the Providence College brothers visit the Alfond Arena on Sunday, November 21. The face-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
